Nail of the Day: Revlon Vixen

Natural Light

Apologies for the quality of the photos, despite having natural light it still wasn't all that bright :(

I picked this up because I'd heard it was a dupe of the Chanel Vamp polish, now Chanel Rouge Noir, that graced the pinkies of Uma Thurman in the film Pulp Fiction. Regardless if that fact is true, this is a great staple colour for every collection.

In natural light this polish looks like a deep brown berry creme, whereas the flash shows the red more. It's certainly a vampy vixen colour to me :)

I didn't have any problems with application and the pictures shown above are of three coats, as per usual. I really do enjoy Revlon polishes and I think it's great that a high street brand dupes the overpriced designer brands. Revlon polishes retail for £6.49 and are available in both Boots and Superdrug. I'm currently lusting after the 18 new colours I spied in my local Boots the other day =o

Nail of the Day: Chanel Quartz

Natural Light

Chanel Quartz, Fall 2011 Collection

Now I can't remember if this bad boy was limited edition or not, all I remember is that it was released alongside Graphite and Peridot and the Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadow thingys.

I could seriously wax lyrical about metallic polishes all day long, almost as long as I could about purple and grey polishes but I don't want to bore you guys ;) This polish is basically a beige taupe with multi-coloured and silver shimmers. In some lights it looks more beige, in others more champagne. I think it's really pretty! :)

Natural Light

The photos of my naff polish application were of three coats. Two coats looked too sheer for me and besides I have the habit of just slapping on three coats any way! The formula isn't the best but it's definitely not the most troublesome I've come across. I think it looks smart and sophisticated, definitely office appropriate, whilst still suitable for a night on the tiles.

What are your favourite polish splurges?

Nail of the Day: Barry M 303 (Bright Purple) Nail Paint

Apologies for the late posting of this but I was absolutely cream crackered following my day at IMATS yesterday and then I was out today as I had a facial at Origins booked. Be glad when I can get to work for a rest ;) Lol!

This is Barry M 303 (Bright Purple) Nail Paint. It's very much a pink toned purple with a jelly finish. The above photo shows the colour with three coats and you can still make out the nail line.

The quality of the polish is awesome, it's just not my favourite purple out of my collection :)

What's your favourite purple polish?

Review: NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose

I recently did a swap with my friend Gina, the video can be viewed here. Her channel is here, be sure to subscribe because she's awesome :)

Gina sent me a whole bunch of stuff so I thought I would try everything out and then review it on here :)

First up I have a review of NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose.

The lipstick is a really neutral toned medium pink, basically the perfect tea rose colour.

The lipstick itself is very creamy with a subtle sheen. The formula reminds me of a cross between a MAC Amplified and a MAC Cremesheen. It feels really nice on the lips and the colour last well too. I really like applying this with my finger and working it into my lips as a stain :)

Here's the classic lip shot...

Love this! I will definitely be checking out NYX tomorrow at IMATS to see if they have any more colours for me :) Can you guys recommend any?
